Empowering Youth with Tools for a Brighter, Greener Future
At PEACE (Partners Empowering Agroecology and Computer Education), we focus on two major pillars: Digital Empowerment and Environmental Stewardship. Our activities are tailored to equip young people with relevant skills, practical knowledge, and the values they need to lead sustainable and impactful lives in their communities.
We believe that teaching ICT alongside agroecology prepares youth to thrive in a modern, interconnected world — while remaining grounded in caring for the environment.
💻 1. ICT Skills & Digital Literacy
In today’s digital age, access to computer knowledge is essential. Through hands-on trainings and workshops, we provide youth with the ICT skills they need for school, work, and entrepreneurship.
Key Activities:
- Basic Computer Training: Introduction to MS Office, typing, file management, and internet use
- Creative Design: Basic graphic design using tools like Canva or Adobe Express
- Introduction to Coding: Block-based coding and beginner-friendly programming
- Cyber Safety: Teaching responsible online behavior and digital rights
- Device Access: Organizing sessions where youth can access and use shared laptops or tablets
Our ICT sessions are designed for beginners and use interactive, learner-centered methods.
🌱 2. Agroecology & Tree Planting
Climate change and environmental degradation threaten the future of Uganda’s youth. That’s why we integrate eco-literacy into our programs — helping young people become protectors of the planet.
Key Activities:
- Community Tree Planting: Mobilizing youth to plant trees in schools, homes, and public spaces
- Agroecology Training: Teaching sustainable agriculture practices that conserve soil and promote biodiversity
- School Greening Campaigns: Partnering with schools to establish green clubs and eco-gardens
- Recycling & Composting Education: Promoting waste management and backyard compost systems
- Nature Walks & Awareness Days: Celebrating environmental holidays with hands-on learning
Each planted tree is a symbol of hope, responsibility, and long-term thinking.
👥 3. Youth Empowerment & Mentorship
We are more than a skills training center — we are a Junior Youth Club that nurtures leadership, creativity, and a sense of purpose.
Key Activities:
- Mentorship Circles: Youth-led discussions on life skills, values, and positive identity
- Workshops & Talent Development: Art, public speaking, storytelling, sports
- Youth Dialogues: Safe spaces to speak out on issues affecting young people
- Peer Educator Training: Preparing teens to train others in ICT or environmental topics
- Community Service Days: Giving back through clean-up drives, home visits, or health outreaches
We raise future changemakers who are proactive, disciplined, and community-focused.
